AceFast A45 PD 65W GaN Crystal Charger review

Having a single-port charger is not enough especially when you tend to carry more than two devices. One of the most interesting chargers I have used was recently launched by the Chinese accessory maker brand AceFast.

The AceFast A45 charges three devices simultaneously, and at a faster speed than most of are familiar with. AceFast is still an emerging name in offering quality chargers and power solutions.

AceFast sent us its newly launched AceFast A45 PD 65W GaN charger review unit and I spend almost two weeks with the charger. It is one of the most interesting charger I’ve used in a while. Personally, I love to travel a lot and this compact fast charger is now my on-the-go travel partner. It charges my devices (smartphones, earbuds, tablets, etc) simultaneously much faster than generic or standard chargers, and safely.

Design and Build Quality

When it comes to chargers, most people don’t often notice the design but AceFast tries to be unique with its new charger. I tested the EU version; both EU and US models also have the same design however the US model’s prongs fold flat into the side of the charger — one advantage to the US models.

AceFast A45 PD 65W GaN Crystal Charger Review- Faster, Safer, and Reliable

The charger boasts a fully transparent design and you can literally see round copper coils and circuits present inside the Charger which looks quite futuristic and eye catchy, in terms of looks department, AceFast did a great job. The compact adapter fits easily in hand and feels a little bit heavy but that won’t be a problem. The AceFast A45 PD 65W adapter has a sturdy, high definition, and high transparency flame-retardant PC material build which is scratch resistant and wear resistant.

Of course, the adapter is travel friendly until your traveling is limited to a sole country. If you are someone who travels a lot internationally like US to UK or UK to EU, then you must have to rethink before you consider it as a travel adapter because every time you travel to any other country you have to carry a connector every time with you, the AceFast A47 PD 65W adapter won’t have detachable or interchangeable prongs.

AceFast 65W Crystal Charger Features

AceFast’s 65W brick is built on Gallium Nitride technology (GaN). In case, if you don’t know what GaN is, it’s is a unique material that is used to make the next generation of chargers.

AceFast A45 PD 65W GaN Crystal Charger Review- Faster, Safer, and Reliable

Gallium Nitride or GaN chargers are three times faster than our silicon-based chargers in converting power to electricity. Chargers with built-on GaN use less energy by converting electricity to alternating current more efficiently.

Compared to your silicon chargers, the GaN chargers are much smaller, more portable, more lightweight, and can withstand more heat. Another main advantage of using GaN technology is, it can charge your smartphone ten times faster than a regular charger. That is why all the brands prefer GaN material to make their chargers absolutely compact and faster.

Top up with a plastic hard case, clean, minimalist, transparent design, and finished in a mica gray color, AceFast A45 65W PD crystal chargers indeed look quite good and are also very safe to use. AceFast added multi-protection into the charger which is very efficient enough to deal with these conditions- overcurrent, overvoltage, overcharge, short circuit, overload, magnetic field, lightning, electrostatic, over temperature.

AceFast A45 PD 65W GaN Crystal Charger Review- Faster, Safer, and Reliable

AceFast 65W crystal charger offers two USB C ports and one USB A port that provide any fast charging protocol you need. If you are still confused about how much each port delivers a power output or combination of ports, check the image below. You’ll know how much output you’ll get when plugged into which port on the AceFast Crystal charger. The intelligent temperature control feature measures the temperature 40 times per second to prevent the risk of overheating at all times.

Powerful Performance

AceFast A45 crystal charger offers a maximum of 65W charging for the three ports, but there’s a catch. You can achieve a max 65W fast charging speed with only a single device using either C1 or C2 port. It doesn’t offer the same output for both ports but the same goes for similar competitor models such as the UGREEN 65W GaN Fast charger.

AceFast A45 PD 65W GaN Crystal Charger Review- Faster, Safer, and Reliable

I have a bunch of gadgets, phones, wearables, and other devices so keeping their respective batteries filled is quite a task. I usually use them all at once so it gets worse if all the gadgets are running out of juice. But thanks to AceFast’s 65W PD crystal fast charger- there’s plenty of power from two USB-C ports and one USB-A touting PD 3.0.

I tested this AceFast 65W PD crystal fast charger with OPPO F19 Pro and AceFast Crystal T8 earbuds on USB-C ports, and the Samsung Galaxy J8 on a USB-A Port. Here are the results, I got.

DevicePorts50% Charge(hr:mm)100% Charge(hr: mm)
OPPO F19 ProC132 min      1 hour 9 min
AceFast Crystal T8 EarbudsC246 min1 hour 52 min
Samsung Galaxy J8USB A49 min2 hours 11 min

When charging three devices simultaneously, the charging speed slightly decreases, but the devices receive power more quickly, thanks to intelligent balance that spreads the power across the ports in use. While charging all these devices, the charger experiences a slight increase in heat, although this is negligible. The built-in AI temperature control technology 2.0 maintains the temperature and prevents the risk of overheating.

Additionally, I tested the charger by using a single USB C port to charge my OPPO F19 Pro smartphone, which reached 50% charge in just 26 minutes and reached full charge in 53 minutes. Overall, this charger is excellent, allowing for simultaneous charging of up to three devices at a faster speed.

Final Thoughts

The AceFast Crystal Charger A45 PD 65W GaN is an ideal charger for your mainstream electronic devices, including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and game consoles. Its build quality is very sturdy, and the transparent design adds a fashionable touch. Additionally, the charger is compact, lightweight, and portable, allowing you to carry it anywhere and charge almost anything you need.

There is no doubt that this charger is well-suited for travel, thanks to its GaN technology, which produces less heat, and its fast USB C ports with PD 3.0 support. While the EU and US versions have different measurements, they share the same internals, which is what matters most.

Unfortunately, the Crystal charger from AceFast does not offer swappable power prongs, which is slightly disappointing. International travelers should consider this limitation before choosing this charger as their travel companion. However, if you frequently travel within the US or Europe, I highly recommend the AceFast Crystal Charger A45. Moreover, for those who have multiple devices scattered around, this charger is a godsend.

AceFast has done a fantastic job with the Crystal Charger A45, offering two USB C ports and a single USB A port, which is great. While many devices nowadays utilize USB C cables for charging, there are still people who rely on USB A ports. Having the option of a single USB A port in the charger is always advantageous, especially in emergencies.

That being said, AceFast’s Crystal Charger A45, with its mesmerizing transparent design, fast charging capabilities, and compactness, serves as an excellent and budget-friendly power solution for anyone in need of a fast GaN charger.

Govee unveils updates to T2 TV backlight series, introduces 98-100 inch model

0

Govee, a leading name in smart lighting solutions, is expanding its T2 TV Backlight Series by introducing a new 98-100 inch model while also rolling out significant software updates across the entire T2 series. These updates bring exciting new features and enhancements to enhance the viewing experience and customization options.

98-100 Inch T2 TV Backlight

One of the most notable additions to Govee’s T2 TV Backlight Series is the introduction of the 98-100 inch model. This larger variant features an elongated strip light to perfectly accommodate expansive TV screens.

Building upon the success of the original T2, this new model carries over all the beloved features while catering to those seeking a more immersive experience for their larger televisions. The dual-camera design and patented color-match technology, known as “Govee Envisual,” remain intact, ensuring customized and dynamic lighting effects that synchronize with the content on the screen.

Exciting Software Updates

Alongside the launch of the new model, Govee is introducing game-changing software updates across the entire T2 series. These updates expand the functionality and versatility of the TV backlight, providing users with an even more engaging and energy-efficient experience. Let’s explore some of the key software enhancements:

Vivid Mode: Govee’s new Vivid Mode takes the viewing experience to new heights by dividing the TV screen into zones. It captures the content on each zone individually and synchronizes the colors on the screen with the TV backlight. This results in a truly immersive and captivating visual experience that enhances the on-screen content.

Black Screen Detection: With the introduction of the black screen detection feature, users can now save energy when the TV backlight is not in use. Once activated through the Govee Home App, the system automatically turns off the backlight if it detects low screen brightness, a black or static screen, or the absence of color alterations on the screen. This feature ensures optimal energy efficiency and convenience.

DreamView Technology: Govee’s T2 TV Backlight now supports DreamView Technology, allowing users to create a color-coordinated and immersive lighting environment. By pairing their Govee TV backlight with up to five other DreamView-compatible smart lights, users can synchronize the lighting effects across their entire room, further enhancing the viewing atmosphere.

Compatibility and Pricing

All models in the T2 TV Backlight Series are compatible with popular technologies such as CEC, HDMI, Dolby Vision, and 8K screens. Additionally, they offer seamless integration with select streaming services, including Disney+, Netflix, and Max.

The pricing for the T2 series is as follows: $139.99 for the 55-65 inch model, $159.99 for the 75-85 inch model, and $199.99 for the newly launched 98-100 inch model. These competitive price points make Govee’s T2 TV Backlight Series an attractive choice for those seeking to elevate their home entertainment setup.

OnePlus’ upcoming smartphone could feature a whopping 24GB of RAM

0

The maximum 18GB RAM smartphone we saw earlier which was launched by Taiwanese tech Giant Brand Asus- the Asus ROG 6 Pro. An 8GB RAM smartphone is powerful enough to handle casual gaming and multitasking but the latest reports are suggesting very soon we could get smartphones that feature more memory than a budget-range gaming laptop. There are a lot of rumors buzzing in the tech industry, Chinese electronics brand BBK could soon launch its new flagship smartphone with a whopping 24GB of RAM option.

Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station reveals the details about smartphones with 24GB of RAM that could launch soon. According to him, the Oga group is working on smartphones with 24GB of RAM. Furthermore, he says that the smartphone will get a 16GB base variant while the 24GB RAM variant will be the high-end variant.

Moreover, rumors suggest that the OnePlus will be the first brand to announce its device with 24GB of RAM. The smartphone is reportedly called as OnePlus Ace 2 Pro which is expected to debut in August this year but unfortunately, the smartphone may be limited to only Chinese markets like the Ace 2 smartphone. Other rumored features of the Ace 2 Pro include Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 processor, a triple rear camera setup with 64MP primary lens, and a massive 5,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.

There is no confirmation from the BBK brands on the release of new smartphones with up to 24GB RAM options. And Oga group may be pointing towards BBK brands including OPPO, Vivo, Realme, and OnePlus but exactly which brand will first launch its smartphone with 24GB of RAM is unknown for now. No matter how renowned the tipster is, it’s better to wait for an official announcement and take all these leaks and rumors with a pinch of salt for now.

The X90 series was announced back in November 2022 in China, almost after a long 7 months gap, Vivo launched the X90S variant in the X90 series. It’s obvious, the X90S smartphone comes with a new chipset and other minor upgrades. The Vivo X90 series smartphone comes with Red and Black color options but for the X90S Vivo has announced two more color options- Green and White along with RED and Black.

Vivo X90s debuts with Dimensity 9200+ chipset

Lion Trek Portable Solar Generator review

Sometimes you need power on the go but a power bank won’t cut it but a bulky power station might be overkill. That’s when a solar power generator like the Lion Trek is perfect. It packs up to 99.9Wh of stored energy into a compact airline approved package. Lion Energy sent us one out for review a few weeks ago and I’ve been impressed with it just like I was with the company’s larger Safari ME.

Features

The Lion Trek has everything you need to keep your devices powered up on the go. It features two USB Type-A ports capable of 5V at 2.4A, a USB Type-C port with Power Delivery that maxes out at 60W, and a 150W AC port.

With all of these ports, it doesn’t matter what device you have with you, the Lion Trek is going to be able to charge or power it. Whether it’s your phone, tablet, smartwatch, drone, laptop, etc. one of these outputs will work with it. I was able to charge my phone, laptop, and even run a TV with the Lion Trek without issue.

Charging the Lion Trek was also quick and easy. When using the included 60W charger it only took around two hours to fully charge it and be ready to go. Additionally, Lion Energy has included a solar charging port making it easy to charge up on camping or hiking trips using the sun.

One of the main features of the Lion Trek that cannot be overlooked is the size. The Lion Trek packs a lot of power into a 2.1-pound compact form factor with a rubberized rugged shell. I found it to be durable and easy to carry in a bag, however, the protective rubber casing can pick up some dirt and will need a wipe-down from time to time. That’s a small price to pay given how versatile the Lion Trek is.

The easy-to-read display is also a standout feature on the Lion Trek. With it, you’re able to check the current battery level, see how many watts are being used, and the time remaining until it will be fully drained.

Final thoughts

If you’re looking for a portable power generator for a day trip or hike, then look no further. I’ve used the Lion Trek over the past few weeks to charge several devices and run a 43-inch HDTV for nearly four hours. It has been perfect for tossing in a bag and knowing that I’ll be able to charge my phone, tablet, or power my laptop on the go. Furthermore, I love that I can charge it up with solar panels like the 50W Foldable Solar Panels I previously reviewed from Lion Energy.
