0

Samsung has officially confirmed the latest gen foldable smartphone- the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 (successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4) will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event later this month. Ahead of the official launch, lots of rumors and leaks of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 buzzing in the market. The latest leak from the SamMobile, reveals the hands-on images of the upcoming Galaxy Fold 5 smartphone. The leaked renders show the phone’s new rear camera setup and hinge.

So far, the leaked Galaxy Fold 5 hands-on images do have a USB Type C port and a speaker grill at the bottom, three microphones, and a speaker on the top and there doesn’t seem any gap between the two foldable screens. According to the leaks, Samsung is developing a new waterdrop-shaped hinge for its latest iteration of foldable smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 leaked Renders, Specifications Here’s everything we know so far

The new generation foldable phones from OPPO, Vivo, Huawei, and Xiaomi came with the same waterdrop-hinge. The major advantage of a waterdrop-shape hinge- it minimizes the crease on the internal screen and removes the gap between two folding screens.

Furthermore, Samsung uses the same triple rear camera setup for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 but changes the LED flash position, now placed on the right side of the camera unit.

The latest news comes from a reliable tipster Ice Universe, he tweeted that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 won’t offer an IP58 dust resistance rating although, he doesn’t clarify what rating it will come with. Moreover, he also tells that the crease will be 15% less visible. That means the crease will still be more visible, in comparison with other foldable smartphone creases like OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi.

According to the leaks, the foldable will feature a 7.6-inch Super AMOLED 120Hz main screen and a 6.2-inch AMOLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, it could feature a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast charging support as well as wireless charging too.

Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will launch later this month alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Watch 6 series, and Tab S9 series. But the firm didn’t reveal the exact launch timeframe, it’s better to wait for the official news before we take these rumors into consideration.

OnePlus Nord N30 5G review

The OnePlus Nord N30 5G has made quite an impression in the smartphone market with its affordable price and promising specifications. In this review, we will delve into the key aspects of the device, including battery life, display quality, camera performance, and overall pricing, to help you determine if it’s the right choice for you.

Design

The Nord line has some multiple iterations at this point and the Nord N30 takes it a bit more premium in my mind. While the casing is still plastic, the fit and finish are much better this year and truly make you wonder if it’s glass at first glance. It’s a perfectly fine design, but it’s not breaking any new ground.

The right side houses the power button and fingerprint combination. This is the first side-mounted scanner I’ve used with consistent results throughout my testing. It was just as reliable as any other orientation of biometrics. The left side of the Nord contains the volume rockers and SIM/microSD slot.

The bottom contains a speaker grill and USB-C charging port. Oh, and that third port is a 3.5mm headphone jack for those that may not be old enough to recognize it. It’s been removed from most phones in the last decade but the Nord N30 includes the throwback.

Display

The smartphone features a 6.72-inch LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution, delivering crisp and vibrant visuals. The screen provides good color reproduction and adequate brightness levels for most lighting conditions. However, it’s worth noting that the device has a high refresh rate found in some flagship smartphones, which is impressive. The display quality of the OnePlus Nord N30 remains commendable for its price range.

Camera

The OnePlus Nord N30 5G sports a quad-camera setup, including a 108MP primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The primary camera captures detailed and sharp images in well-lit environments, while the ultra-wide lens expands the field of view, enabling impressive landscape shots. The macro lens provides a fun option for close-up photography, though the results may lack the same level of detail as the primary lens.

In terms of low-light photography, the OnePlus Nord N30 struggles to deliver exceptional results. The images can appear slightly noisy and lack the clarity and detail seen in well-lit conditions. However, the dedicated night mode helps enhance low-light shots by improving brightness and reducing noise, although it’s still not on par with flagship devices in this aspect.

Overall, the camera performance of the OnePlus Nord N30 5G is respectable, considering its price point. It allows users to capture a variety of moments with decent clarity and versatility.

Software and Performance

Running on OxygenOS 13.1, based on Android, the OnePlus Nord N30 5G delivers a clean and intuitive user interface. With its optimized software, the device offers smooth and lag-free performance, ensuring a seamless user experience. I’m still not a huge fan of OxygenOS, but if you’re already a OnePlus user or even a Samsung owner, I think you’ll find it much more pleasing.

The Snapdragon 695 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM handles day-to-day tasks with ease, although it may struggle with resource-intensive applications and heavy multitasking. Gaming performance is satisfactory for casual gamers with the Adreno 619, but it may not meet the expectations of those seeking a device primarily for gaming purposes.

Battery Life

When it comes to battery life, the OnePlus Nord N30 proves to be a reliable companion. Equipped with a substantial 5000mAh battery, it easily lasts through a full day of heavy usage without requiring a recharge. Whether you’re browsing the internet, streaming videos, or playing games, this device ensures you won’t be left stranded with a drained battery.

The inclusion of 50W fast charging further adds to the convenience, allowing you to quickly top up the battery when needed. This does need the included SUPERVOOC charging cord and brick, but you aren’t going to find this much juice in any other phone in the budget category.

Pricing

One of the standout features of the OnePlus Nord N30 5G is its affordability at $299. Priced significantly lower than flagship devices, it offers great value for money. The device brings 5G connectivity to a wider audience without breaking the bank. While it may not have all the high-end features found in premium smartphones, the OnePlus Nord N30 5G strikes a balance between performance and cost-effectiveness, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers.

Conclusion

The OnePlus Nord N30 5G provides an affordable 5G smartphone option with commendable battery life, a vibrant display, and a versatile camera system. While it may lack some premium features, the device compensates with its competitive price point, making it an enticing choice for budget-conscious consumers even in a crowded market.

However, if you prioritize a higher refresh rate display or exceptional low-light photography, you may need to explore higher-end alternatives. If you prefer the clean software of the Pixel experience, it’s still a hard sell over the low price of the Pixel 6a in most retail storefronts. Overall, the OnePlus Nord N30 5G offers solid performance and value for its price range.

Unihertz Jelly Star mini phone review

The Unihertz Jelly Star is a small but powerful Android smartphone that has captured the attention of tech enthusiasts. Despite its compact size, this device packs impressive features and functionality. In this full review, we will explore the strengths and weaknesses of the Unihertz Jelly Star, highlighting its unique selling points and its potential as a powerful tool.

We got early access to this Kickstart-backed mini-phone for around 4 weeks. While it still has some of the same limitations as its predecessor, it’s a worthy upgrade to the Jelly lineup.

Design

The Unihertz Jelly Star showcases a compact and sleek design that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. Its small size, measuring only a few inches, makes it highly portable and easy to carry around. The size will take you back if you haven’t held it before. The Jelly Star is smaller than a standard credit card. Yeah, it’s that small. When you place it in your pocket it almost fades away and you’d swear you forgot it at home.

The device features a vibrant display that, despite its small size, offers sharp and clear visuals, enhancing the overall user experience. Whether it’s browsing social media, watching videos, or reading text, the Jelly Star’s display delivers surprising quality for its size.

The Jelly Star’s controls mostly live on the right side of the phone. Here you’ll find the power button, the dedicated red action button, and the USB-C charging port. On the opposite side, you have a lone volume rocker. But let’s be honest, the “star” of the Jelly Star are the two LED lights embedded into the backplate, and more on that later.

Encased inside the top LED strip you’ll find the camera array and fingerprint sensor. The small size of the Jelly makes the sensor hard to position at times, but once you get the hang of it, the reader authenticates well.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Unihertz Jelly Star impresses with its capable performance. It is equipped with a powerful MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage ensuring smooth multitasking and responsiveness. Despite its modest specifications, the Jelly Star handles everyday tasks with ease, including browsing the web, checking emails, and running apps.

The device operates on the Android 13 operating system, offering a familiar and user-friendly interface that allows for customization and access to a wide range of apps through the Google Play Store. It’s a fairly stock build with Unihertz adding in very few alterations.

There’s nothing to write home about here other than the additional options in the menus for setting the actions of the red button on the side and how the LED lights are handled. Here you can manipulate how the LEDs interact with apps and the brightness levels. You can even make the red button utilize them like a flashlight to pair the two features together.

Camera and Multimedia

The Jelly Star surprises with its 48MP camera capabilities, considering its diminutive stature. It features a respectable rear camera that captures vibrant and detailed images. While it may not rival high-end smartphone cameras, the Jelly Star’s camera is more than sufficient for casual photography.

It’s hard to tell on the small display, but the photos in good lighting are pretty decent once you pull them over to a larger screen. The pictures captured have crisp edges and good processing. As with many of the budget Android phones, once you start to lose natural lighting, or add motion, the Jelly Star can struggle. But for a phone meant to add more meaningful and conscious usage, I think it’s adequate.

Battery Life and Connectivity

Despite its small form factor, the Jelly Star manages to offer a decent battery life. With moderate usage, the device can easily last a full day before needing a recharge. It also supports fast charging, ensuring that users can quickly power up their devices when needed. In terms of connectivity, the Jelly Star offers dual SIM support, allowing users to stay connected on multiple networks simultaneously. It also supports 4G LTE, ensuring reliable internet access wherever you go.

User Experience and Accessibility

The Unihertz Jelly Star focuses on providing a user-friendly experience. Its small size may take some adjustment for users accustomed to larger smartphones, but its compactness also makes it convenient for one-handed use.

The device’s physical buttons are well-placed and responsive, enhancing overall usability. Additionally, the Jelly Star offers an accessible experience for individuals with visual impairments, as it features a built-in screen reader and accessibility settings.

Again, the Jelly line is meant to have users have a phone that forces them to slightly disconnect. It’s focused on consumers looking to take a step back from being addicted to their internet devices. Here, the Jelly shines with additional horsepower and new LEDs. You have a powerful, tiny phone when you need it, and can be easily stowed away in a pocket when you don’t.

Conclusion

The Unihertz Jelly Star defies expectations with its compact size and surprising performance. Despite its diminutive stature, this Android smartphone delivers a powerful and capable user experience with a fun LED light system. From its sleek design to its impressive display, the Jelly Star offers a unique proposition in the smartphone market.

While it may not cater to those seeking the latest flagship specifications, its portability, and functionality make it an appealing choice for individuals looking for a secondary device or those who prefer a more compact smartphone experience. The Unihertz Jelly Star proves that great things can indeed come in small packages.

Right now, the Jelly Star is available for pre-order on Kickstarter. This early bird pricing can snag you this fun little phone for just $139 with other packages reaching $1510.

Vikings Go To Hell: The Best 3D Slot Around?

0

The world of slot gaming is a truly vast one with a game based around almost every subject imaginable. Whether you want Halloween slots or Christmas slots; slots set in the jungle or slots set in the depths of the city; slots from every corner of the world or from outer space, someone has made one. However, today we’re going to take a look at one slot game in particular, a game that’s been delighting slots fans with its 3D graphics and endless special features: Vikings Go To Hell.

Who Made It?

Yggdrasil is the maker of this 25-pay-line game. If you’re wondering where they got the inspiration for their name from, it’s the great sacred tree of Norse cosmology, meaning that if there was ever a gaming company well suited to creating a genre-defining Viking game, it’s probably Yggdrasil. They’ve got numerous other fan-favorite slot games in their library, including Devour the Weak, Enchanted Waters, and Shaker Club. However, today we’re going to be focusing on their most Viking offering to date.

How To Play

Vikings Go To Hell is available on a plethora of different casino sites, so check if it’s on your favorite first of all. If you’re looking to try out the game, or just play casino games in general, then finding yourself a bonus couldn’t be simpler. All of the best sites offer sign-up bonuses which range from free spins through to no deposit bonuses so that you can play slot games for less money. With this particular game, you could snag up to 25 free spins, which is more than enough to give you a feel for the game before you wager your own money on it.

The Basics

Vikings Go To Hell is a slot that offers an incredible range of bonus features. It has a great range of betting amounts that can be placed. This makes it suitable for players on a super tight budget, as well as high rollers. Plus, with the ability to play on mobile or computer, you can take the game with you if you choose to. There’s an autoplay option for those who prefer to play more casually, and a max bet button too if you’ve got an endless bankroll.

The Numbers

Knowing about RTP is essential when playing slot games (Unsplash)

If you’re serious about looking after your bankroll and getting the maximum play time for your money then knowing about the numbers is essential. The most important is the return to player percentage, which describes how much of your stake on average you will win back. In the case of Vikings Go to Hell, this is 96.1%, meaning for every £10 you wager, you could potentially get as much as £9.61 back.

This is a fairly generous RTP, especially for a game with so many bonus features. It is worth remembering that, although RTPs are rigorously tested, they even out over a very long time. On low-volatility games, they’re likely to be a pretty accurate representation over as little as 100 spins, but as the volatility goes up, so too does the number of spins you’ll have to play in order to see an accurate reflection of the RTP.
