Acer unveiled two new affordable tablets in India

0

Acer usually launched its latest laptops for Indian markets but this time Acer brings two new entry-level tablets- the One 8 and One 10 for the Indian markets. Acer’s entry-level tablets come with decent features which are aimed to fulfill the needs of every user who is looking for tablets at an affordable price point. Let’s take a look at the detailed specifications and pricing of the One 8 and One 10 tablets.

Acer’s One 10 tablet kicks off at Rs 17,990 (~$216) while the One 8 starts at Rs 12,990 (~$156). Both tablets are now available through Acer’s official website and offline stores.

Powering the One 10 and One 8 tablets by MediaTek MT8768 octa-core processor offers decent performance. Both tablet runs on Android 12 out of the box which is quite surprising Acer even didn’t provide the latest Android version for the tablets. The One 10 features a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage while the One 8 has a 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM  with the same 64GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 1TB via microSD card on both devices.

It offers a bunch of connectivity options including 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth v5.0, and a USB type C port for charging and data transfer.

1More Evo Active Noise Cancelling Earbuds review

1More is more commonly known for its budget headphones. However, the brand also makes higher-end earbuds for audio fans looking for more features and premium-quality sound. The 1More EVO are the latest from the brand for discerning audiophiles that don’t want to break the bank and 1More was kind enough to send them out for review.

Design

The 1More Evo are housed in a compact capsule-styled case made from soft-touch plastic with some heft that gives it a premium feel in the hand. The case has a rubberized bottom to help keep it in place on your desk and also allows for wireless charging along with a USB Type-C port on the back for wired charging as well.

The case for the 1More Evo ticks all the boxes for high-end earbuds, however, my one complaint is that the earbuds are difficult to remove from the case. Between the slick body of the earbuds and the curiously strong magnet used, it can be a frustrating endeavor to pull the buds out. On more than one occasion I had to fight with the case to get the buds removed and dropped them.

Comfort

Over the years, I’ve reviewed a handful of 1More’s premium earbud offerings, and the decision to use oblong ear tips for this lineup has always irked me. Nearly every brand on the market uses the traditional oval round-shaped ear tips, and for good reason. It’s a more natural shape for the ear canal, provides a comfortable secure fit, and allows for the use of third-party ear tips.

It’s for this reason that I’ve struggled in the past to wear some of 1More’s higher-end earbuds, and thankfully, that wasn’t the case with the Evo buds. Included in the box was a set of ear tips small enough to provide a good secure fit that I was able to wear comfortably for hours.

That’s a big accomplishment because I’ve never experienced that with any of 1More’s previous oblong-shaped ear tips. At times, it can even be a challenge for traditional round ear tips to fit my ears properly. In the past, I’ve had to resort to buying third-party ear tips for some of my previous earbuds in order to get a comfortable fit.

I’d still love to see 1More switch over to the standard round ear tips for its premium lineup of earbuds. Not only would it be more comfortable, but it would also make it possible to use third-party ear tips.

Features

The 1More Evo are packed with premium features, with the standouts being, adaptive ANC, wireless charging, fast charging, long battery life, and the LDAC codec. That’s a lot on offer for the $170 price tag, and 1More also includes an easy-to-use app to manage everything.

There was a time that 1More’s app did little more than serve as a firmware update tool, but these days, it has gained a myriad of features that make it essential to the overall experience.

By using the app, you’ll have access to the ANC settings, including the transparency and wind reduction modes. Additionally, there is an extensive equalizer built-in, along with options to customize the touch-sensitive controls.

While 1More was smart by implementing touch-sensitive controls that require a double tap to activate, it does limit the number of actions the controls can perform. Other earbuds on the market make use of single, double, and triple tap controls to provide additional commands, but this also leads to a lot of accidental activations of these controls. At least, with 1More’s limited double-tap controls there’s less of an opportunity for errors to occur.

Audio quality

If you’re an audiophile on a budget, then the 1More Evo are where it’s at. They sound crisp, clean, and provide incredible separation paired with deep impactful bass. The soundstage is also wide and open giving instruments room to breathe. Furthermore, LDAC support and the comprehensive equalizer ensure you’ll have the highest quality audio with ways to tweak it to your preference.

Honestly, the 1More Evo have no right sounding this good at this price, and they make all other premium earbuds look overpriced in comparison.

ANC

The Evo earbuds from 1More provide several options when it comes to active noise cancellation, including strong, mild, wind reduction, and adaptive. After using them for the past few weeks, I can say that the noise reduction works well at blocking out repetitive background sounds. Plus, there’s a transparency mode with two different options if you need to be aware of your surroundings.

Microphone

There’s an array of three AI-powered microphones housed in the 1More Evo earbuds tasked with delivering your voice clearly while blocking background sounds when you’re on calls. During my testing, I never had any complaints from callers on the other end and people tended to agree that I sounded clear.

Battery life

1More rates the Evo buds for eight hours of consecutive playback with ANC disabled and up to 28 hours total with the charging case. When ANC is enabled, that drops to five and a half hours of consecutive listening time and a total of 20 hours overall.

In my experience, the 1More Evo lived up to these claims and gave me plenty of listening time in between charges. When it comes time to charge up, you can also choose between Qi wireless charging or fast charging with the USB Type-C port that can provide you with four hours of listening time with only a 15-minute charge.

Final thoughts

With premium wireless earbuds going for $300 or more these days, there’s plenty of room in the market for an affordable option. 1More delivers that with the Evo earbuds by providing good battery life, adaptive noise cancelling, and phenomenal sound quality at an affordable price.

Not many high-end wireless earbuds include LDAC and 1More went out of its way to provide more value for almost half the cost in comparison to other premium earbuds. If it weren’t for my personal nitpick about the oblong-shaped ear tips and the curiously strong magnets used, I’d say the 1More Evo are perfect.

The 1More Evo Noise Cancelling Earbuds can be purchased in black or white from Amazon for $170 with 30% off using the currently available coupon, or directly from the 1More website for $130.

0

In the modern era, the boundaries between our living and working spaces have become increasingly blurred, leading to a convergence that reshapes our daily routines.

The rise of remote work, coupled with the ubiquity of digital connectivity, has transformed our homes into multifunctional havens where living, working, and relaxing coexist within the same walls.

Ensuring a healthy home environment is paramount in today’s world. With the rise of smart technology, a new device has emerged as an essential tool for every household: the smart indoor air quality monitor.

These unassuming gadgets often pack a powerful punch, offering a range of benefits that can significantly impact our well-being. One of the newest products to hit the market, the INKBIRD IAM-T1, aims to be that companion product that creates safe living spaces.

Let’s dive into the latest product from INKBIRD and see why it might be your next smart gadget.

Real-Time Monitoring and Protection

With its Senseair sensor, the IAM-T1 offers real-time monitoring, enabling users to gain immediate insights into the air quality of their living spaces. This real-time data facilitates proactive measures to maintain a healthy environment for themselves and their families.

What is Monitored?

  • CO2 Concentration: Elevated CO2 levels can indicate poor ventilation and potentially lead to discomfort and health issues.
  • Temperature: Temperature plays a significant role in comfort, productivity, and overall well-being.
  • Humidity: Maintaining proper humidity levels is essential for preventing mold growth, preserving indoor materials, and ensuring respiratory comfort.
  • Air Pressure: Air pressure can influence the overall indoor environment and, in some cases, affect well-being.

Clear and Easy-to-Read Display

The electronic ink screen of the IAM-T1 features an ultra-wide viewing angle, high reflectance, and high contrast. This ensures that users can effortlessly read and interpret the displayed information from various angles and lighting conditions. Feel free to place it anywhere you’d like, or mount it on a wall.

User-Centric Alarm Design

The IAM-T1’s display adjusts intelligently when CO2 levels surpass safety thresholds. The screen shifts to white characters against a black background, enhancing visibility and drawing attention to potential air quality concerns. The colored bar indication for CO2 levels, just below the display, adds an extra layer of clarity.

Extended Battery Life

The IAM-T1 is designed for efficiency, utilizing an electronic ink screen with low power consumption. By going this route, the monitor can operate continuously for up to four years on the provided AA batteries with data sampling intervals of about ten minutes.

Seamless App Integration

The INKBIRD APP facilitates easy and efficient management of the IAM-T1. Through Bluetooth 5.0 connection, users can remotely access and monitor indoor CO2 concentration, temperature, humidity, and air pressure from their smartphones. The ability to set sampling intervals and save up to 30 days of offline data ensures comprehensive data tracking.

Long-Term Data Analysis

Are things slowly getting worse over the course of the summer or might they be improving? The INKBIRD APP allows users to review long-term data trends, giving them a holistic understanding of their indoor air quality over time. This feature is invaluable for making informed adjustments and improvements to their living environment.

Why Consider an Air Quality Monitor?

Indoor air quality (IAQ) plays a pivotal role in our daily lives, affecting our health, comfort, and productivity. Given that we spend an estimated 90% of our time indoors, it’s crucial to maintain optimal air quality to reduce the risk of respiratory issues, allergies, and other health concerns.

Factors like poor ventilation, dust, allergens, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and even carbon dioxide levels can contribute to a subpar indoor environment. Having a solid grasp of your air quality could inform you as to whether you need to open windows more often, purchase an air purifier, or run the vacuum more regularly.

Who is the Target User?

The benefits of a smart indoor air quality monitor like the IAM-T1 extend to a wide range of individuals and households:

  • Families: Parents striving to create a safe and healthy environment for their children will find an IAQ monitor invaluable, as it helps safeguard their little ones against pollutants and allergens.
  • Elderly Individuals: Seniors are often more susceptible to respiratory issues. An IAQ monitor can assist them in maintaining optimal air quality for better well-being.
  • Health-Conscious Individuals: People with allergies, asthma, or other respiratory conditions can gain better control over their living spaces, reducing triggers that exacerbate their symptoms.
  • Smart Home Enthusiasts: Those who’ve embraced smart home technology will appreciate how an IAQ monitor seamlessly integrates into their existing ecosystem, enhancing the overall smart living experience.
  • Rental Properties: Landlords and property managers can utilize smart IAQ monitors to ensure the well-being of their tenants, fostering positive living experiences and potentially increasing property value.

In a world where wellness takes center stage, a smart indoor air quality monitor emerges as a pivotal tool for healthier living. Its ability to provide real-time insights, proactive alerts, and personalized recommendations transforms indoor spaces into havens of well-being.

From families to tech enthusiasts, the benefits of the IAM-T1 extend to a diverse range of users, ensuring that homes become places of comfort, health, and happiness.

Treblab HD Mini wireless speaker review

I feel like every home needs a wireless speaker at this point. You need to have a way to easily stream audio around the house. Treblab has been making these devices for years now and recently sent me the new Treblab HD Mini to review. I’ve been testing this new speaker for a few weeks and let’s find out how it stacks up in this full assessment.

Design

The overall design language of the HD Mini will be very familiar to those with previous Treblab speakers. You have a small, squircle-type cylinder with a gray and black color palette. On the very top, you have a circular LED array adorned with the Treblab logo.

These LEDs can be used to add to the playback experience. Whether it’s just pulsing through the colors, or you want the lights to bounce along with your music, this can be used either way. It’s a fun little addition to the HD Mini that makes it stand out in the market of compact wireless speakers.

Internally, the Treblab HD Mini is powered by a 10-watt max speaker and 40Hm drivers. The battery pack inside will keep you going for hours and also can charge external devices with the USB-A port. Sadly, the USB-C port is for charging the HD Mini only.

The HD Mini is also ready for outdoor elements with weatherproofing. Treblab has certified the speaker to withstand the IPX5 standard of protection. This should make you comfortable to use this device in light rain or splashes around the pool.

Additional ports are found for an SD card and a 3.5mm headphone jack. This makes the ports pretty well rounded even in this small form factor. It also gives you multiple ways to listen to audio outside of Bluetooth while using the Treblab HD Mini.

Just above the aux ports are power and media controls. These are pretty universal these days and allow you to alter the volume, play/pause, and skip tracks. Nothing else to see here.

Sound

I’m torn on the sound of the Treblab HD Mini. At lower volumes, the sound is decent. The balance is fine with highs and mids coming through as you’d want. However, the bass is pretty much non-existent. While I don’t expect any of these compact models to run you out of a room, the entire sound experience just seems muted.

I’d love to have seen the HD Mini pack a slightly bigger punch. It just never gets loud enough with rich sounds to impress. At the sub $40 price range, it’s not terrible, but I don’t know if it really stands out here again competition.

Battery life

One thing that is a plus is the battery life. Treblabs estimates are up to 25 hours of mixed playback, and I’ve found this to be pretty accurate. I’ve had no issues under general audio use to get to the 20-plus hour mark consistently.

This makes the Treblab HD Mini a great wireless speaker to through in your bag for a weekend trip. Whether you’re bouncing from hotels or AirBnBs, or even remotely away from power camping, then the HD Mini has the endurance to take on the adventure.

Conclusion

The Treblab HD Mini is a compact and versatile wireless speaker ready for your next road trip. While the audio won’t blow you away the sturdy build quality, a nice array of ports, and IPX5 rating make it compelling at just $40.

And if you act quickly, the speaker is discounted by 25% on Amazon at our link below.

Eufy Mach V1 Ultra vacuum review

While eufy has been around for a few years, I feel most recognize the security portion of Anker’s sub-brand and perhaps overlook the home tech segment. Eufy’s home lineup includes many things but mainly consists of cleaning devices.

The latest such device is the very premium Mach V1 Ultra vacuum mop. I’ve been using this hybrid cleaner for around a month and this might be the most premium device eufy, or Anker, has ever made.

Design

The Mach V1 lives up to the moniker and looks like a racecar or fighter plane. The angles are sleek and modern at every turn of the vacuum mop. It strikes a nice balance of modern and retro which I really like. The handle and wheel mechanisms are solid and feel sturdy to hold up to long-term usage.

Atop the handle are the show’s stars when it comes to interacting with the eufy Mach V1. This includes a button array, LED display, and trigger. This combination allows you to rotate through different cleaning profiles and power settings.

The Eco-Clean Ozone features of the machine are created by the triple-tanked system. This starts with the small cleaning solution tank on the bank. This is paired with the clean water tank on the top portion of the front of the Mach V1 Ultra. Last, the water is dumped as you clean into a large dirty tank after traveling through multiple screens and filters.

Suction/Mopping

The Mach V1 profiles button is threefold. You can find your preference for Smart (automated), Suction, and Steam options. Smart is pretty self-explanatory. This allows the onboard computers and sensors to detect the need and adjust accordingly.

I’ve found this is mostly an even split between the Suction mode and wet vacuuming. For most instances, I think this is the best mode while using it for normal cleaning. The default combination of a light mop with self-drying vacuuming behind it makes for easy daily use.

Suction mode kills the mopping functions and redirects all the power to the Mach V1 vacuum. This is great for dirtier hard flooring. I’ve found this is also essential as the only mode that is meant for carpeting. Here the Suction mode allows you to clean low-pile carpet just like a normal stick vac.

The Suction in the first two modes can also be increased. Using the trigger under the handle, you can move this power mode up and down. This makes for great flexibility in those dirtier moments on hard flooring or more trafficked carpets.

My favorite function might be that the eufy Mach V1 also can be used as a steam mop delivering up to 230 degrees of SteamWave tech. Here you give the vacuum a few minutes to warm up and the LED lights on the bottom portion will pulse red to tell you it’s ready. Afterward, the cleaner works as a full-fledged steamer. Again the trigger allows you to hit stubborn spots by increasing the steam.

Self-cleaning

The eufy Mach V1 Ultra doesn’t stop at just cleaning your floors. The vacuum also cleans itself both while running and a deeper clean while charging. When using Mach V1, the machine is constantly flushing the system and cleaning the rollers to prevent recontamination of surfaces.

This constant circulation of clean water from the top tank and solutions is dumped into the gray water tank at the bottom of the vacuum. This Eco-Clean Ozone system allows for the unit to remove 99.9% of common germs and odors while being safe for pets and children.

When you place the cleaner on the charging base, it enters a deeper self-cleaning mode. Here it combines the steam function, and a roller cleaner in the base to remove leftover debris and then dry the unit. It takes some time, but I’ve found the vacuum to be fairly clean after utilizing these functions and be ready for your next use.

Battery

Seeing as the eufy Mach V1 Ultra is fully cordless, you have to consider endurance. Thankfully, the Mach V1 performs well here. eufy estimates that in mixed cleaning, the vacuum should last up to 82 minutes of runtime. I’ve found this to be accurate. I’ve been able to pull off an hour-plus full home cleaning session multiple times without issue.

Conclusion

Eufy has created a well-rounded portfolio of home products in the last few years. The Mach V1 Ultra expands this further and into a more premium platform. This combination of stick vac and steam cleaner is the all-around solution that many households will find is well worth it.

That brings us to the final line of the spec sheet… price. The Mach V1 Ultra is $700. This is far past the impulse purchase, but when you consider the vacuum is replacing three different cleaners in the home it tends to soften the sticker shock. Pairing that with competitors from Dyson can cost up to $400 more, and I think this value is worth it from eufy.

You can purchase the eufy Mach V1 Ultra from either the company’s online store or Amazon storefront below.
