PowerA Unveils Officially Licensed Wireless Controllers for Nintendo Switch 2

PowerA, a long-time name in third-party gaming accessories, has announced its latest officially licensed controller for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The Advantage Wireless Controller brings a mix of durability, comfort, and playful design options, giving players more choices as Nintendo’s next-generation console gears up for release.

Designed with Next-Gen Features

At the core of the Advantage Wireless Controller are Hall Effect sensors in the thumbsticks, a feature aimed at reducing wear and stick drift, something many gamers know all too well. Paired with embedded anti-friction rings, the setup is built for smooth, accurate movement that holds up over long play sessions.

The controller also integrates a dedicated Chat Button, designed to make quick use of GameChat on the Switch 2. Rounding out the feature list are motion controls, mappable Advanced Gaming Buttons, and an LED status indicator that keeps players updated on connectivity in real time.

Character-Driven Designs

PowerA is working with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International to deliver themed editions alongside the standard black model. Two designs will debut at launch:

  • Mario and Friends – a design centered around Nintendo’s most recognizable mascot and his crew.
  • Mega Evolutions – artwork featuring Pikachu and several Mega Evolved Pokémon.

Thanks to repositioned center faceplate buttons, the artwork is uninterrupted, giving these controllers a more polished collector’s look.

Comfort and battery life are also front and center. The Advantage Wireless Controller is shaped with a lightweight ergonomic build and supports up to 30 hours of wireless gameplay. For players who prefer wired play or simply want to keep charging simple, each unit includes a detachable 10-foot USB-C cable.

Pricing and Availability

The Advantage Wireless Controller lineup, including the black model, Mario and Friends edition, and Mega Evolutions edition, will retail for $69.99. Pre-orders are already open through Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, and other major retailers, with availability expected ahead of the holiday season.
