HTC U24 Pro: New Specs, Familiar Design – and We’re Here for It

HTC has released its latest mid-range Android phone, the U24 Pro, reminding the tech world that the company is still very much in the game. Known for its occasional surprises, HTC continues to show its dedication to the smartphone market.

The U24 Pro is now available for pre-order in Taiwan, boasting Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. It runs Android 14 smoothly with 12GB of RAM and offers storage options of either 256GB or 512GB. For those who need more space, there’s a microSD card slot included.

The phone features a 6.8-inch FHD+ OLED display, delivering vibrant colors and crisp details. Up front, there’s a notification LED, a small but handy feature that’s becoming rare. Powering the device is a 4,600mAh battery, supporting wired charging up to 60W and wireless charging up to 15W. Other essentials include NFC, Bluetooth, IP67 water resistance, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, catering to users who appreciate traditional audio connections.

The camera setup on the U24 Pro is robust, with three rear cameras: a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 50MP telephoto lens. The front-facing camera also impresses with a 50MP sensor, cleverly integrated into the display, leaving the top bezel to house the notification LED, earpiece, and other sensors.

One aspect to keep in mind is that software updates aren’t necessarily guaranteed with HTC devices. This might concern users who prioritize having the latest software features and security updates. However, for many, the solid hardware and overall performance might be the primary focus, making this a minor drawback.

In Taiwan, the U24 Pro is priced at $18,990 TWD, roughly $585 USD. It will be available in “Twilight White” and “Space Blue” starting June 30. Global availability details are yet to be announced, but this release signals HTC’s ongoing, albeit minor, commitment to delivering quality smartphones.
