Aqara, a prominent leader in the IoT sector, has officially unveiled the Smart Lock U400. This revolutionary deadbolt expansion leverages Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology to deliver a truly “invisible” and hands-free entry experience for modern homeowners.
Precision Engineering via UWB Technology
The U400 distinguishes itself by utilizing Time of Flight (ToF) and Angle of Arrival (AoA) calculations. Unlike standard Bluetooth proximity locks, the U400’s UWB integration tracks a user’s specific trajectory with surgical accuracy. This ensures the door unlocks only when an authorized resident approaches from the exterior, effectively eliminating accidental triggers from inside the home. Furthermore, the inclusion of Scrambled Timestamp Sequence (STS) provides a robust defense against sophisticated relay attacks.
Seamless Ecosystem Integration
Designed with a platform-agnostic philosophy, the U400 is built on the Thread protocol and is fully Matter-compatible. It integrates natively with:
- Apple Home & Apple Wallet: Support for hands-free Home Key via iPhone or Apple Watch.
- Voice Assistants: Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Versatile Access & Sustainable Design
Beyond its automated UWB capabilities, the U400 offers a comprehensive suite of backup entry methods, including fingerprint recognition, recurring PIN codes, NFC cards, and physical mechanical keys.
The hardware features an IP65-rated weather-resistant chassis and is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery, providing up to six months of autonomy on a single charge. For added convenience, the lock includes an emergency charging port compatible with standard third-party power banks.
