Yet another Linux based phone is announced with a weird name attached to it.  Like we don’t have enough already. The distributors of the W.E. phone is a company called Koolu Inc. which is based in Mississauga, Ontario.

What we understand is that the W.E. phone is actually the Neo FreeRunner packaged under a different name courtesy of Koolu Inc.  The difference between the two is that the W.E. phone appears to have some software customizations, including Google Apps.  What really got us going is the fact that Koolu Inc. are working on a Google Android version of the phone!

Current specs of the W.E. phone are as follows:

  • 400MHz Samsung S3C2442 (ARM9 core)
  • 128MB of RAM, 256MB of flash
  • 2.8-inch 640 x 480 TFT display
  • 2.5G tri-band GPRS/GSM with Wi-Fi, GPS
  • Bluetooth
  • Accelerometer

So, who’s gonna get one of these?
