HTC and Sony Ericsson Merger On The Horizon?

Could HTC and Sony Ericsson be contemplating a merger? It depends on who you ask or what day it is. We’ve seen arguments and reports on both sides. We say for sure at this time, but signs are showing that there could be some truth in this. Just for fun, we’ll pour a little gas on the fire.

According to HTC CEO Peter Chou in an interview, HTC would be a good fit in a merger with Sony Ericsson and they would welcome it. We think it’s a good idea too and wouldn’t be upset if that came to fruition in the coming months. Sony Ericsson would profit greatly from a merger like this seeing how they slumped from their #4 position to #5 last week and HTC just keeps getting better at what they do. Seriously, look at what they’ve been putting out with Windows Mobile lately!
